Rays of Faith: Fundamentals of Belief 3

July 2007… another exciting AlMaghrib seminar & another great instructor (No, his name does not begin with a Y).
After 3 awesome seminars taught by either Shaykh Yasir or Shaykh Yaser, Qabeelat Tayybah welcomes a new instructor to NYC, Shaykh Waleed Basyouni for Rays of Faith: Aqeedah 103!!!Back at the NYU campus for our fourth seminar, we spend the next two weekends delving into topics such as Angels, the Day of Judgement, and Qadr. An emotional experience for all, there are moments of profound silence in which every eye is moist and every heart touched.

There are also lighter moments, in which Shaykh Waleed tells us his much anticipated jinn stories and when he comes to class wearing a Tayybah shirt! And of course, who can forget the Brothers vs. Sisters Bake Off in which the brothers, for all their hype, lost spectacularly to the sisters? Alhamdulillah Rays of Faith was truly a remarkable and unforgettable seminar.

Memorable Moment

First weekend, after a section on Angels…
a brother asks,
“If you shoot at someone and miss, will it still hit the angel?”

The Shaykh’s replied,
“Don’t worry, the Angel will move!”

¨˜”°º•ρρη •º°”˜¨ in the making

This was our first seminar with Shaykh Waleed. SubHaan Allaah, we coverd a great deal of material and note-taking was not simple to keep up with. Special thanks to Qabeelat Hayl for supplying their notes! They were definitely needed to complement our own.

alHamdu lillaah, after 40 days or so of hard work, we were able to release PPN-ROF. Since this was a course on ‘Aqeedah, it required extensive source-verification in comparison to LN and TCE. But is sure was worth it! “Guardians of  ‘Aqeedah” we hope to be! May Allaah swt accept.

During this PPN, we realized the need to come up with uniform standards for spelling transliterated words. So for subsequent PPNs, a new standard has been added. More on the TPA page 🙂
